Exclusive Shadow Work Retreats:
An intimate, immersive journey to reclaim your power, soften old defences, and come home to your whole self.

Step away from everyday demands and into a space designed for truth, reflection, and meaningful transformation.

Our small-group Shadow Work retreats in the UK are an invitation to meet yourself with honesty and compassion, supported by skilled facilitation, in luxurious surroundings. Held in a quiet countryside sanctuary, these self-development retreats offer a rare opportunity to step into depth in a high-integrity space, with gentle structure, nourishing food, and time to rest, reflect, and reconnect.

Over the course of three days together, you’ll be guided through powerful Shadow Work practices designed to help you explore the parts of yourself that are often hidden; those emotions, instincts, and needs that once had to be pushed aside in order to cope, achieve, or belong.

Whether you’re feeling stuck, burnt out, disconnected, or simply sensing that something deep within is ready to shift, this is a space to meet yourself anew. To do the work your soul has been quietly asking for.

The doors to the world of the wild Self are few but precious. If you have a deep scar, that is a door, if you have an old, old story, that is a door. If you love the sky and the water so much you almost cannot bear it, that is a door. If you yearn for a deeper life, a full life, a sane life, that is a door.
— Clarissa Pinkola Estés

Who Are Our Shadow Work Retreats For?

This retreat may well be for you if you are:

  • At a threshold in life, seeking change, insight, or realignment

  • Ready to face emotional patterns, inner conflicts, or self-sabotage

  • Longing to reconnect with creativity, vitality, or purpose

  • Wanting to act with greater power or choice in relationships or leadership

  • Called to reclaim softness, joy, or the permission to shine

  • Sensing that what you’re here to offer the world lives beyond your current edges

  • Curious about Shadow Work and ready to explore your unconscious landscape

  • Willing to be witnessed and to witness others in a safe, non-performative way

You don’t need any prior experience with Shadow Work, just a willingness to be honest with yourself and a longing for change.

What Is Shadow Work?

Shadow Work is a psychologically grounded, compassionate and insightful approach to meeting the parts of yourself you’ve learned to hide: your fears, your fire, your needs, and your longings.

These hidden parts, which form part of your “shadow”, often hold repressed emotion, limiting patterns, or unmet needs. But they also hold untapped gifts and inner resources. Through a facilitator-guided process that honours client-led, autonomous discovery, you’ll begin to embrace change with self-compassion and reclaim what once felt out of reach, liberating the life force energy that’s been trapped beneath old survival strategies.

Rooted in Carl Jung’s pioneering insights into the unconscious, it’s one of the most powerful personal development tools we know, and our luxury Shadow Work retreats offer a deep dive introduction into what the Jungian journey of individuation can make possible for you.

This approach moves beyond cognitive insight into embodied aliveness.
So you can meet life as your whole self, with more ease, courage, and freedom.

Benefits of Shadow Work:

Our Shadow Work retreats help people make powerful shifts that ripple through all areas of life. On this path, many people learn to…

✦ Transform anger into clean, grounded power
✦ Transmute grief into meaningful connection with self and others
✦ Turn fear into insight, presence, and the ability to trust their intuition
✦ Speak up with more confidence and clarity in their life and relationships
✦ Love and accept themselves more, let go of shame, and listen to their body’s wisdom
✦ Reclaim creativity, clarity, or joy once lost to people-pleasing or over-giving
✦ Forgive, feel more at peace with the past, and empowered in the present
✦ Move forward on a life decision they had felt stuck around or ambivalent about
✦ Reclaim disowned gifts
: intuitive, assertive, playful, sensitive or visionary parts once pushed away

Kind Words from Past Retreat Clients

  • “Every detail of this retreat was thoughtfully arranged to create a deep sense of emotional safety for its participants. Alexandra and Sascha were not only highly skilled in their craft, but also deeply attentive listeners. The inner peace and confidence I gained far outweigh the cost of attending. The experience felt like the missing piece in my healing, and it’s been profoundly effective. I’m especially grateful for the care and support offered by the leaders and the group- the connections I formed here feel like the beginning of lifelong friendships. I’d encourage anyone to cross the ocean for this retreat, it’s worth it.”

    MG, North Carolina

  • “I feel so incredibly lucky to have shared a retreat with such extraordinary people. It was a privilege to witness and be witnessed. Thank you both for making the space where that could happen with such skill, heart, empathy and joy. Looking up in my process and seeing Alexandra in tears, and hearing M crying, made my grief real and valid- I had no idea I needed that.”

    Sophie, Midlands

  • “Before the retreat, I felt like I was walking around carrying a weight I couldn’t name. The grief of losing my sibling, the pain of parental abandonment, and a deep loneliness had all built up inside me, unseen but constantly felt. During the weekend, I didn’t just “talk about” my pain, I was able to move through it. I saw parts of myself I had buried long ago, and instead of judging them, I welcomed them in. For the first time in years, I felt like I was home within myself. The facilitators were exceptional- intuitive, trauma-informed, and deeply human. They knew when to step in, when to hold back, and how to guide without ego. I was nervous about group work, but was surprised by how seen and supported I felt. Everyone showed up with such courage and vulnerability. I’ve already recommended this retreat to clients and friends, it’s not just healing, it’s life-changing.”

    SP, Blackpool

  • “My life has turned technicolour! I had no idea I was carrying so much grief, and that it was stopping me from feeling authentic, deep joy. I’m much more intimately connected to my partner, who says I’ve ‘softened.’ I opened up to my children for the first time, travelled solo for the first time in my life, took time just for me, and I’ve set up several new initiatives at work to bring different groups together and offer support.
For the first time, I’m able to plan for the future, whereas before, I couldn’t even think about it. I’m living much more in the present, with so much gratitude.”

    MB, Kent

  • “It was a profound and emotional experience, which equipped me with tangible, practical tools I can access instantly and that help me show up as the best version of myself in daily life.
Learning about the archetypes was so enlightening. It helped me make sense of my own behaviour and gave me insight into how others operate too. The process work was artfully and skilfully delivered by the facilitators, who guided us through a truly paradigm-shifting journey.
Each moment evoked deep empathy that’s stayed with me ever since. I’ve always prided myself on building good relationships, but I now feel better able to connect, listen, empathise, and be fully present.
My own ‘process’ helped me reconnect with a part of myself I’d long neglected. It gave me newfound inner strength, clearer boundaries, and a stronger sense of self-worth. I’ve been able to face some very challenging situations since, with confidence and ease, rather than overwhelming frustration or upset.
I would recommend this workshop retreat to anyone.”

    SR, London

  • “I’m not sure I have the words to fully describe the weekend, but I know it’s been transformative in ways I’m still discovering a month later.
Alexandra and Sascha were so wonderfully facilitative, attuned to everyone’s different needs and paces. I’m an introvert who usually takes time to warm up in groups, and yet barriers dissolved so gently that I can’t fully express the depth of connection I felt with people I’d only just met.
Any concerns I had beforehand were quickly soothed through excellent communication, and there was no pressure to do anything that felt outside my comfort zone.
If you’re looking for an illuminating, life-enhancing experience that helps you make sense of long-standing patterns, ones you’ve been living but never quite understood, this is for you.”

    YF, Midlands

  • “Before the retreat I felt stuck and knew that something meaningful was missing. What unfolded exceeded all expectations. I appreciated the full experience- the flow of exercises, the connection with others, and how safe I felt to be myself. Sascha and Alexandra were incredible facilitators- calm, intuitive, grounded, and fully present throughout. They created a space where I felt safe to go deep, whilst feeling completely supported. If you’re on the fence or unsure if something like this is for you, just go. You’ll be surprised at how powerful it is.”

    LA, Stamford

  • “I am still wrapping my head around all the profound healing we had. It is amazing how deeply we can connect with people we likely won’t ever meet again. I felt so moved by people’s humanity and strength, power to fight, vulnerability and love for their parents. Supporting A by playing their inner child was super special to me, I really felt that I received the same healing for my own inner four year old, the reassurance I needed that it’s ok to speak up. My heart went out for everyone, you do such a wonderful job, everyone should have this opportunity!”

    EF, London

  • “I felt absolute trust in you both throughout, you held yourselves and the room with the utmost integrity. The whole experience was incredible, life-affirming. Certainly the best personal development or therapy I’ve ever encountered.”

    JP, London

FAQ

  • No. You’re very welcome whether you have experience or are completely new to Shadow Work. We will ask about your previous experiences of self-development, inner work or therapy during a discovery call before you sign up, and give you an idea of what you can expect at our retreat, to ensure this is right for you at this time.

  • Our retreats are small and intimate, limited to 8 participants. This allows for ample individual attention, depth, and emotional safety.

For all-gender retreats we will always have a co-gender facilitation team, and we may be assisted by a Shadow Work trainee, so the facilitator-client ratio is high.

  • Yes. The Vedanta is a vegetarian venue so the premises are completely meat, fish and egg free. We provide wholesome plant-based meals, and the chef regularly caters to vegan, gluten free and dairy free requests and specific allergies or intolerances. Please let us know your needs when booking, and we will do our best to accommodate you.

  • Absolutely. Most people attend solo. You’ll be welcomed and supported.

  • We aim to create an inclusive and welcoming environment for everyone.

Our UK retreats are held in a building that dates back to the 1800s, but the venue owners have done their best to be wheelchair accessible wherever possible. There is a lift, but it is not large enough for a wheelchair so a ground floor room would be offered in this instance. Please let us know when booking so that we can reserve a specific room for you.

If you have hearing or vision needs, please let us know in advance. We are happy to arrange seating close to the facilitators, provide written hand outs in large print or a plain text document or point you to learning material on this website which has been designed for use with a screen reader, to allow you to begin to absorb some of the material in advance, and we can offer a guided orientation to the space on arrival.

We are always learning about new ways to support accessibility. Please reach out via the contact form to discuss your needs with us.

  • You will receive a welcome pack upon booking with full details, but we suggest bringing loose, comfortable clothing, layers for different weather, slippers or indoor footwear as the venue operates a no-shoes policy indoors (except in the gym), gym or yoga wear should you wish to make use of this space, outdoor wear for walks in nature, a journal and pen and a sealed water bottle or flask.

Yoga mats and meditation cushions are available at the venue.

  • We speak to each potential participant before confirming your place. This helps us ensure the retreat is right for you, and allows us to begin getting to know you a little, creating a sense of safety from the start. After this call, you’ll receive full booking information and payment details.

  • We operate a cancellation policy based on how close to the retreat you cancel your attendance. You’ll receive a full registration pack before booking, including clear terms and conditions around cancellations, refunds, and deferrals.

  • We offer an optional post-retreat integration call to help you ground insights and navigate the return to daily life. You’ll also receive suggestions and invitations for continued reflection, and there are opportunities to continue working with us individually or on future programmes.

It’s time to remember what it feels like to rise with women who want to see you thrive. Get in touch via the contact form to find out more.
